The Return/Release/Recovery Phase of TNVR is the last part of TNVR and a return to Care Giving activities .
Here is a fun video of Midnight being released by Wake County Animal Control Officer Howard, back into the same area where he was born. The trap was intentionally pointed toward my neighbors yard where Midnight was most familiar with. Those logs weren’t at the border of our yards when he went in for surgery, so he had to quickly adjust his planned escape path.
For those of you who are worried that all this is so traumatic that cats and kittens will be mad at us and more afraid of humans than ever, I was afraid of that also. I found out my fears had very little basis in reality. Midnight was back at the patio eating with all the other kitties by late afternoon. Sometimes they stay away for one day. The reality is, they are very happy to come home and quickly get over any grudges.
As of this posting on 2/24/2020, Midnight is super healthy, still a kitten, almost an adult, playful, and never pet by humans but getting more comfortable with me. To see the two kitties who are most socialized, very comfy with me, and love to be pet even though I subjected them to the TNVR experience, see Princess and Sox.
